Event Childcare

My name is Sarah Harper. I provide a warm, caring and friendly environment in my home in Anglesey, where children can play, learn and develop. Parents can leave their children with me knowing that they will be safe, happy and loved. The children receive plenty of attention and lots of hugs and affection. They are able to play with other children of various ages with a range of toys and equipment both indoors and outside.

My role as a childminder I find very fulfilling and get great satisfaction in looking after and assisting in a childs’ growth and well being, both physically and mentally as well as emotionally. To help us get out and about I have a 9 seater vehicle.

I am married to John and have two children aged 21 and 17.

We have lived in Llangefni, Anglesey since 2007 when we relocated from Cheshire.

I run the Llangefni Beaver Scout Group and also enjoy walking and creative past times, such as curtain making and painting.

I have looked after children for many years with overnight care, short term care and my own children too, I enjoyed this so much that I decided to become a full time childminder and can offer full time, part time, after school and holiday care.

I am compliant to the new Welsh Minimum Standards (April 2016) to care for 10 children up to the age of 12 years old. Care for children up to the age of 12 is now regulated, however over 12's are not - but I do offer care for that age group too.

At my latest inspection I was graded 'Excellent' and you can read my full report here: Inspection Report

Summary findings of the report are:

1. Overall assessment

Children’s views are highly valued and they consistently contribute to ideas about how they spend their time. They benefit from a broad range of different experiences that promotes their development and makes their days fun and interesting. The child minder is meticulous in her approach to ensuring she recognises and meets individual needs. The environment is planned from a child’s perspective and there is an extensive range of suitable resources available to offer children a range of play and learning opportunities. The child minders leadership of the service is extraordinarily well organised and effective with working in partnership with parents given top priority.

2. Improvements

The child minder has continued to develop her knowledge and has attended a wealth of different courses.
